Dubai, UAE – Majid Al Futtaim - the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa – demonstrated a unified show of patriotism and national pride for UAE Flag Day today in recognition of the initiative driven by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, which also coincides with the accession anniversary of President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the presidency of the country.
UAE National Flags were raised high above Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Me’aisem and City Centre Al Shindagha, adorning the malls, at noon today, creating a great moment for the nation and also commemorating the UAE’s founding fathers whom hoisted the flag 45 years ago.
In the Northern Emirates, all staff members at City Centres Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah, including management and retailer employees, wore UAE flag themed scarves while they wove UAE flags in the malls during the day.
To mark the national occasion visitors to all malls were treated to complimentary flags and scarves. At Mall of the Emirates a children’s parade created a celebratory atmosphere while visitors enjoyed chocolates courtesy of Patchi. The mall’s social media pages, including My City Centre Al Barsha, also joined in the festivities, raising digital flags to spread the spirit.
The flags will remain up until the 45th UAE National Day on December 2nd.
