The Middle East’s first ever indoor/outdoor high rise, high thrill waterpark has now opened its doors for the region. Wahooo! is exactly how it sounds – a wave of excitement, a rush of adrenaline and a rollercoaster ride of adventures.

Wahooo! is set to a perfect 30 degrees all year round, thanks to the temperature control feature that regulates both indoors and outdoors - the only one in the Middle East located in Manama in Bahrain. Separated by a wall of glass, both the indoor and outdoor areas feature a mix of real and artificial sub-tropical plants to enhance the paradise, tropical island theme, centred around a moored schooner.

The park has a mix of jaw-dropping descents like the 230 metre Master Blaster Rollercoaster and the four-lane Matt Racer which shoots visitors down a high-speed tube. But there is also a softer side for a more gentle experience and even lounging areas which are more for onlookers than outgoers.

Spread over 15,000 square metres, Wahooo! has attractions for all ages and abilities. The Middle East’s unique waterpark is an amazing addition to Bahrain City Centre, which has already become the kingdom’s favourite retail and leisure destination. Tickets for a day full of fun and excitement cost BD9.5 for customers who are over 1.2 metres tall and for those less than 1.2 metres in height, tickets are priced at BD6, whereas toddlers below three years-of-age can come in for just BD 3. The waterpark will be open from 10am in the morning until 10pm in the evening.

Another highlight of the park is the spectacular Wave Rider surfing machine, which creates a three metre high static, curling breaker. This state-of-the-art water sports pool enables a perfect on-shore hang ten experience, and skilled users will be able to showcase their surfing talents, wowing the spectators and diners on the surrounding terraces.

Wahooo! also has a giant U-shaped Sidewinder that plunges guests down one side and up the other in an up-and-down tube ride that gradually funnels riders to the bottom.

Another pool recreates an indoor beach experience, generating waves nearly one metre high. Elsewhere, a huge tipping bucket dumps thousands of litres of water from above, while those who would prefer their water lapping softly underneath them can float serenely down the lazy river.

Naturally adventurous children will immediately take to the multi-level rain fortress, complete with slides, and revel in both playing in the water fountains and squirting each other with cannons.

The waterpark has been designed for guests to enjoy even if they have no intention of getting wet. Bridges and footpaths allow visitors, including those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs, to make a full circuit, and restaurant terraces and function rooms with panoramic views of the park’s attractions mean that those wanting to remain firmly on dry land can do so and still enjoy all the fun.

Wahooo! provides a full range of amenities and services, including prayer rooms, and a retail outlet, Wave Pro, where swimming apparel and souvenir merchandise can be picked up from, to its visitors. It also offers its customers an absolute ‘cashless environment’. The park which has over 10 thrilling rides and two food and beverage outlets uses the RFID-system, where the preferred amount that a visitor wishes to spend in the waterpark can be loaded onto a wristband at the entrance.
